Nothing Is As It Seems

“Heart, the source, is the beginning, the middle, and the end of all. Heart, the supreme space, is never a  form, it is the light of truth. The death of the mind drowned in the Heart is the eternal silence. The real ‘I’ is the supreme Heart-space which is the great ocean of bliss.”
Sri Ramana Maharishi, Guru Vachaka Kovai

Unconscious on the steps of this tavern called samsara, life has forgotten me, even death has left me behind.

Forgive my intoxication – I have drunk the wine of eternity and forever lost my mind.

Though my companions are serious and determined,

I am like a puppy gambolling on the grass, a frail wisp-of-colour butterfly, a soft breeze, a hint of summer rain.

I fall so willingly into that divine madness again and again.

Alas! I am gone…you cannot meet me anymore;

now my travails are over, I have reached that distant and indescribable shore.

I am the moth burning in the flame; in the nectar heart of the lotus, I am the drowning bee.

I am the dewdrop that slipped gladly into an endless sea.

Now all that’s left is a whisper, a distant echo of lost and stolen dreams.

Listen, my friend- I will tell you a secret : nothing is as it seems!

“Dissolve the self in the supreme Self as the space in an empty pot is dissolved in infinite space; then, as the infinite, be silent forever, O Sage!” – Adhyatma Upanishad

Wake Up !

“Whenever wars have occurred, whenever there has been bloodshed in the world, whenever there have been revolutions and upheavals in life, all the various disasters that have taken place are due to these same causes: on the one side man's selfishness, and on the other his lack of understanding of the law of nature and the law of happiness. Our limited self is like a wall separating us from the Self of God. God is as far away from us as that wall is thick.” Hazrat Inayat Khan

O wanderer, dreaming your way through a thousand lifetimes..when will you awaken?

Lost in this vale of ghosts, the very air you breathe is fear.

Crouched trembling beneath the shadow of death, here all you will find is dread and despair.

Trapped in  a terrible nightmare, seeking salvation in any form within the dream is of no use;

There is only one way to escape: wake up!

The trick lies entirely in the perspective : where are you seeing from?

As long as you are stuck in identification with the ego, you stay trapped in a fearful, limited, petty and separate self. This is a lie that your mind has cultivated through all the years of your life. It is a story of inevitable suffering, despair and death.

Even though it is totally unreal, this lie dominates you and warps your perspective.

If you do not see through the lie that is your world, the nightmare will never end.

So break the illusion of the story, shatter the mirage: shift your attention from outside to inside, to the center of your being, the very ground of your existence.

Dive deep into your own being to discover who you truly are.

This is when the miracle happens – you wake up !

Everything changes- you discover the glory of the kingdom of heaven right here and right now.

All suffering ceases.

In that blissful tranquility, only the Divine exists.

You may still see the mirage, but you no longer identify with it.

At last, you are awake.
