A Miracle

It’s a miracle… a perfect miracle,
All around me I see magic in the air…love’s ecstasy just blooming everywhere….
All I do each day is simply sit and stare -

Yes it’s a miracle..truly a miracle
Trees know it, clouds feel it, the birds and the beasts and the fishes live it,
The earth sings it, lightning brings it, children play it, wise men say it
Oh it’s a miracle – right here and now for any eye to see.
A miracle – embracing all there is and you and me.


Candlelight and mirrors, starshine in the skies,
Reflections on the water like the sparkle in your eyes
My heart plays an old guitar that’s sometimes out of key
But all it takes is one deep breath and she sounds good again to me…


To sing the miracle- the timeless miracle,
Just close my eyes and dance inside so deep…who is it who dreams this waking sleep?
Nothing to hang on to, nothing at all to keep
For it’s a miracle..a simple miracle
Stars display it, atoms pray it, cells and bones and blood all stay it,
Nothing holds it, everything unfolds it, time and space are born inside it-
Ah such a miracle – so awesome it just takes my breath away!
Enchanting miracle.. infinite delightful goddess-play!

Secret dreams and visions, serpent fire rising high,
Closer than a heartbeat yet further than the sky,
I laugh out loud at the whole go-round and how it came to be
That all of creation is dancing right here inside me!

This sweet miracle…rest right here, there is no place to go
For it’s a miracle – just drop your mind and you will know
